Nixa businesses, we want to hear your ideas!
The City of Nixa is in the middle of its strategic planning process and we want to hear from business leaders, your employees, and your customers. Please encourage anyone to visit www.imaginenixa.com to join discussions and add ideas they believe would make Nixa an even better place. A great idea can come from anywhere, so anyone can use the site. The discussion is moderated so it is family-friendly and constructive.

City Council have defined a vision for the community in vague terms, but now we want to know HOW to SPECIFICALLY accomplish the vision.

What is Imagine Nixa?
Imagine Nixa is what we are calling the first phase of the City of Nixa’s Strategic Planning process for 2020-2025. We have launched imaginenixa.com as a website where we can collect ideas and generate conversations about what people want Nixa’s future to be. Anyone can add comments, up-vote ideas they like, and take a survey to let the City of Nixa know what you want us to focus on improving.
Is it working?
So far, over 300 people have engaged in the conversation, and over 1,300 people have visited the site. 270 ideas have been added to the digital “Wall of Ideas”. This is a big improvement over the 50 or so people who were able to engage in previous strategic planning processes for the City of Nixa, but we created this website to provide EVERYONE with an opportunity to have a say in Nixa’s future.
What topics are being discussed?
We have divided discussions into 6 forums:
- High-Performance Government
- Community Safety
- Reliable Infrastructure
- Sustainable Economy
- Fun & Unique Places
- Community Spirit
This includes topics about policing, parks & recreation, utilities and infrastructure, planning & development, community events, beautification, diversity & inclusion, good governance, and more! We want detailed and thoughtful discussion, so please discuss with your neighbors exactly what you think we should prioritize and how we should implement your idea.
Is the City of Nixa really listening to my ideas?
YES! ImagineNixa.com will remain live through June 30th, after which, city leaders will consider every idea contributed to that website. Then an advisory committee will determine which ideas should be included as action steps in the city’s 5-year strategic plan. We are looking for ideas that are feasible, impactful, with lots of community support, and which fit our vision and values. Expect to see the city’s strategic plan unveiled later this fall.
