BRING ON 2021 by PLANNING

Even though we all say, YAY 2020 is gone, let us erase that from our memories.  Truth is that life and business must go on.  Next month, I plan on sharing our final numbers and tell the vision for your Nixa Chamber in 2021 after I have shared during our Awards banquet which individual tickets are now on sale.  CLICK HERE.  I will say this, your Nixa Chamber never has and never will slow down serving our members and our community and we are excited about 2021.

Now, how do we tackle 2021.  If you have ever attended any of my goal setting classes, you may have heard me speak about a 1-3-5 or G.P.S. plan which stands for one (1) main Goal, three (3) Priorities and five (5) Strategies to accomplish the Priorities.  This is such a simple plan and easy to do for your business, organization or even your personal goals.

The key to this plan is that first S.M.A.R.T. goal.  It would be easy to say, “my main goal in 2021 is to do better than 2020.”  However, that is not exactly specific, measurable, action orientated, realistic, or timebound.  Frankly, if your goal is something like this, we need to have a one-on-one coaching call. 😊 A better goal would be “Earn $450,000 in gross revenue and add a new sales representative by May 2021.”  Now we have a S.M.A.R.T. goal.

The next step is to build three (3) priorities around that goal.  Several G.P.S. plans I have helped coach, the three priorities usually revolve around topics such as marketing, lead generation, leverage, and budgets, however there are so many different directions we can take this part of a plan that is specific to your business.  Sometimes, this is where having a third-party person help you discover where you need to focus.

After we have identified three priorities, we now need to build five (5) action steps for each priority.  This is where you really begin to think about not only the “what” but the “how.”

Final step, accountability.  Here we focus on how you are going to implement the plan, who is responsible for various priorities or strategies and how are you going to make sure the tasks get completed.  The success of your game plan in 2021 relies on this final step.
